Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Cetology Labs LLC ("Cetology Labs," "Hibari VPN," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and keeps personal information when you use the hibarivpn.com website, the Hibari VPN waitlist, and the Hibari VPN service (collectively, the "Services"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
The Services are offered only to individuals who are at least 18 years old and residents of the United States.
The short version:
- We do not log your browsing, your traffic, your DNS requests, or when you connect.
- To run your account we keep the minimum: your email address, your account and subscription status, and billing records.
- We never sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Hibari VPN runs on servers rented from established VPN providers. We choose providers whose no-logging policies have been verified by independent auditors, and we give them only what they need to set up your connection.
- You can leave the waitlist or close your account at any time, and you can ask us to delete your information by emailing us.
2. What Information Do You Collect?
(a) Information you give us
- Account information: your email address. If you join the waitlist, we record your email address and the date you joined. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google.
- Payment information: payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc., which collects your full card details. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as your card type, the last four digits of your card, its expiration date, and your billing history.
- Communications: the content of emails and other messages you send us.
(b) Information we keep to provide the VPN
- Provisioning information: the identifiers needed to create, renew, and cancel your VPN access with our upstream provider (see Section 4), such as an account or device credential and your subscription status.
- Device count: where a plan limits how many devices can connect at once, the number of devices currently connected. This is checked while you are connected and not stored as a history.
(c) Information collected automatically on our website
When you visit hibarivpn.com, our web servers and error-monitoring service automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. We use this to keep the website running and secure. This applies to our website only, not to your use of the VPN.
3. What Don't You Collect?
When you are connected to Hibari VPN, neither we nor our upstream providers log:
- the websites you visit or the content of your traffic;
- the destination or origin of your traffic;
- your DNS requests;
- when you connect or disconnect, or how long you stay connected;
- the IP address you connect from, or the VPN IP address you were assigned; or
- how much bandwidth you use in a session.
Our upstream providers may keep aggregate, non-identifying server measurements, such as total load on a server, to keep the network running.
4. Who Provides the VPN Servers?
Hibari VPN buys VPN capacity at wholesale rates from established Tier 1 or Tier 2 VPN providers and passes it to you at cost. We choose providers that publish a no-logging policy and have had it verified by an independent auditor.
To set up your connection, we give the provider only what it needs to provision your access, such as an account or device credential. We do not give it your name, your payment details, or, where we can avoid it, your email address. The provider's own privacy policy also applies to how it operates its servers. We will name our current provider in this policy or on our website before we begin charging for the service.
5. How Do You Use My Information?
We use personal information to:
- provide the Services, including setting up and maintaining your VPN access;
- run the waitlist, including emailing you when the service or wholesale price becomes available;
- manage your account and billing;
- communicate with you about your account, billing, price changes, and changes to the Services;
- provide customer support;
- protect the Services, including preventing fraud, abuse, and attacks on our website, and enforcing our Terms of Service; and
- comply with the law.
We do not send marketing spam, and we do not use your information for advertising.
6. Who Do You Share My Information With?
We never sell your information. We share it only as described below.
- VPN providers. The provisioning information described in Section 4.
- Service providers. Companies that help us run the Services, such as providers of cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), email delivery, payment processing (Stripe), and error monitoring. They may use personal information only to provide services to us.
- Other Cetology Labs services. Cetology Labs also operates At-Cost Club (atcostclub.org) and remove.org. Your Hibari VPN account shares one sign-in with those services, so your account information, such as your email address, may be used across them.
- Legal requests. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that the law or valid legal process requires it, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cetology Labs, our users, or others. We have no VPN activity logs to disclose (Section 3).
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business. Any acquirer will be bound by this Privacy Policy for the information it receives.
- With your consent. When you ask us to share information or otherwise consent.
7. How Long Do You Keep My Information?
- Waitlist: until the service launches and you choose not to subscribe, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Account information: for as long as your account is open. After you close your account, we delete or de-identify it, usually within 60 days.
- Website logs and error reports: usually 30 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Support emails: as long as needed to resolve your request.
We may keep information longer where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute or prevent abuse.
8. What Choices Do I Have?
- Leave the waitlist or close your account at any time by emailing us.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us from the address on your account. We will honor reasonable requests.
- Stop non-essential emails by using the unsubscribe link in them. We will still send messages about your account and billing.
9. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the website, such as keeping you signed in and protecting forms from forgery. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers on hibarivpn.com.
10. How Do You Protect My Information?
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children, and you must be at least 18 years old to use them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Where Is My Information Processed?
We are based in the United States, the Services are intended for US residents, and we process and store information in the United States. Our upstream VPN providers operate servers in many countries.
13. Will This Policy Change?
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email before it takes effect and update the effective date above.
